What is RAC and What are the Chances in getting a Full Berth or Partial Berth ?

RAC means  Reservation against cancellation An RAC ticket will guarantee your travel  unlike an waiting to let where you are not allowed to travel, I.e. you'll be allowed to board the train and travel but you will not be allotted a seat. Allotment of Seat as what RAC means, i.e., you'll be allotted a berth only when: Someone fails to board the train and his/her seat remains empty If someone cancels his/her ticket If someone upgrades his/her ticket to a higher class like from 3AC to 2AC etc If something like above happens, and a berth is empty, then the empty birth is to be shared between two RAC ticket holders. So you will surely get to travel but you may not get a berth .
